Description

Position:  Events, Marketing, and Volunteer Coordinator

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or business or related field.  At least two years of experience successfully organizing and executing special events, including securing sponsors; creating social media content, and managing volunteers.

Reports to: Executive Director

Responsibilities:

  1. Event Coordination
  • Plan, promote, coordinate, and successfully execute all aspects of special events including, but not limited to the following events: Walk to END EPILEPSY, Andrew’s Golf Tournament, Mud Volleyball Tournament, 5K Run, and Think Positive Gala
  • Secure event sponsorships through initiating and maintaining relationships with corporations, businesses and other community organizations to support event budgets
  • Administer all aspects of records management for special events in CRM database, generate reports, and send thank you letters.
  • Maintain records of all events and marketing efforts to fulfill requirements of grants and other funding sources.
  • Oversee all third-party events.
  1. Marketing
  • Create and implement the marketing of all outreach and awareness campaigns, educational programs, and special events through our social media outlets, emails, and newsletters to the media, neurology offices, hospitals, schools, community agencies, Chambers of Commerce, etc.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar for regular social media posting
  • Work with Board Marketing/Programs committee to brainstorm and create social media content, and to meet Strategic Plan Objectives
  • Engage with the community across social media channels, i.e. answering comments and messages
  • Collect, review and report on social media data to develop more effective outreach
  • Design all event outreach materials, including brochures, banners, signs, posters, and flyers

  1. Volunteer Management
  • Develop and maintain a system for utilizing volunteers to meet program and fundraising goals
  • Recruit volunteers to assist with all fundraising events
  1.    Assume additional duties as designated by the Executive Director

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all documents related to consumers and donors
  • Thrives in a small office environment
  • Strong knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Content creation skills preferred
  • Competent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design software    
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Multi-tasker with strong work ethic.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and have reliable transportation
  • Willing to work weekends and events as needed
